Job Description:

The Retail Store Technology Operation is a business critical support system which includes functional areas such as point
of sale, labor management, merchandising systems, and customer experiences within the new Microsoft Retail Stores. The
Retail Stores Day to Day Operations team is responsible for managing the implementation and support of technology that is utilized in the
flawless operation of these Microsoft Retail Stores as well as the integration into core corporate systems.

Microsoft Retail Stores Technology Operations is seeking a SCOM Engineer who will be responsible for delivering aspects of our SCOM infrastructure.
This position reports to the Lead Operations Manager, Retail Technology Group.

This role will:

• Work as member of day to day operations team supporting Microsoft Retail Store IT infrastructure
• Ensure that Microsoft Retail Store systems monitoring have sufficient detail to provide proactive monitoring to the IT business and provide information
sufficient to prevent outages
• Work with SCOM Project manager to define SCOM deliverables and schedule to complete
• Build SCOM Management packs and work with the release manager to ensure successful implementation
• Build of SCOM related monitoring infrastructure and consoles to meet business needs
• Participate in various service delivery improvement and customer reaction optimization projects, as requested by manager
• Accelerate the deployment of monitoring and apps

• Maintain the SCOM infrastructure participate in the production support
• Ensure accurate build records are maintained and tested.
• Be proficient in scripting and writing SCOM management packs
• Be proficient in scripting for loading and maintaining agents
• Building scripts that will enhance and enable the SCOM tool to drive the retail operation
• Be the technical expert in the environment and build standards and best practices
• Build and respond to issues in n a timely manner
• Often be the single point of contact for knowledge and support of this specific technical solution
• Exhibit urgency in response to issues and incidents to provide world class support to our customers

Skill Requirements
• This role requires a detailed understanding of hardware (desktop and server).
• Detailed understanding of SCOM, its role, the management of the environment
• An in depth understanding and real world experience of IT operations and support.
• Experience setting up a SCOM infrastructure, installing/upgrading etc
• Demonstrated trouble-shooting and problem solving skills required.
• Technical breadth and understanding of the Microsoft platform and experience in operations of a Microsoft centric platform is a must.
• In depth understanding of hardware architectures

Qualifications:
4+ years of scripting in SCOM
Self-Motivated and adaptable learner.
5+ years Technical Operations or equivalent environments
Excellent oral and written skills.
MCSE certifications would be a plus.
A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or engineering degree preferred.
