Online Service/Systems Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA

The ideal candidate will have a solid base of knowledge including, but not limited to, Windows server, SQL, IIS, servers, clusters, NLB, SAN and DAS storage systems, system virtualization, hardware load balancing, L2 and L3 networking. In addition candidates must have some demonstrable automations skills using some of the more commonly applicable languages used in lab environments such as cmd shell scripting, PowerShell, VB, C# or Perl. Also, to be successful in this role, you will need to have great communications and documentation skills and a passion for customer focus and satisfaction.
Requirements:
• Solid server hardware background including ability to rapidly diagnose and troubleshoot hardware problems and/or failures with emphasis on up time of a production environment.
• Strong working knowledge administrating Microsoft platform products, such as Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, is preferred.
• Solid network troubleshooting experience.
• Virtualization Technologies, Hyper-V, SCVMM, and competition.
• Basic Project Management skills.
• Scripting skills
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Maintain information security and compliance.
• Participation in the Operations team’s 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Excellent knowledge of network and other web related technologies (TCP/IP, load balancing, ACL, routing).
• Knowledge of and experience with internet data center environments/operations required.
• Ability to be highly self-directed when required and work closely within a team.
The following are optional skills that will be helpful:
• Previous Experience in GFS Managed datacenter space is a plus
• Administering Microsoft Biztalk
• SharePoint and Windows SharePoint Services
• Certifications are a plus
